072511. I have lived in apartments and houses in urban settings for more than 20 years (which doesn’t include the 20 years I lived in a smallish New Jersey town … in a crowded house with family I love).
I’ve had roommates. (I will always love you, K. And I still crave Corn Pops at 3 am … it’s a problem.)
I’ve lived with boyfriends. (We all make mistakes … but some are way bigger than others, yes?)
I’ve crashed on sofas. (SB … you saved my life … and Joe is still the best dog I’ve ever known.)
Had loud neighbors who party until all hours of the night.
I’ve even been a loud neighbor with late-night parties.
I’ve complained about barking dogs next door.
And had my dogs complained about.
I’ve lived in about 28 different places in the past 20 years.
Apartments.
Houses.
Duplexes.
Condos.
I’ve done my produce shopping at Whole Foods, local farmers’ markets and local Co-Ops.
I've spent more time in my car commuting than I'd like to remember.
And I’m done.
I’m done with loud neighbors.
I’m done with live-in boyfriends (except for the Cowboy, of course … who is the only boyfriend I ever want again).
I’m done with crashing on sofas (except for those nights I fall asleep watching the Food Network).
And moving every year (or twice a year ... depending on the year).
I'm done commuting.
And I’m ready for a little space.
I’m ready to settle in.
I’m ready to garden.
And compost.
And cook.
And take care of chickens.
I’m ready for cozy Christmases.
And family and friend-filled 4th of Julys.
I’m even ready to homeschool the kiddos.
Basically, I’m ready for the life I’ve wanted forever.
And you’re all invited to visit!
By the way, meeting with the builder went well on Saturday, but it's more than a little clear that for this new life to come to fruition, I’m going to need all the love and kind thoughts you can spare, because it doesn’t seem like it'll be an easy process to make it happen. In fact, it's probably a long-shot ...
But when you're doing what you're supposed to, the Universe bends to help ...
Congrats! Can't wait to visit!

It's beautiful! This is not the one that is 50 miles out of town is it? Fingers and toes crossed. If it is meant to be it will happen. You gotta believe.
