072311. Another week … another effort to reduce, re-use, de-clutter and simplify.
LAST WEEK:
I added to my list.
Last week, I took advice from Leo at zenhabits.org and started carrying a change of clothes in my bag for the LO … which I used to do some of the time. This week I did it all of the time.
And it didn’t simplify my bag … but it did make it a little easier when we went to the beach and the LO decided she didn’t want to wear a bathing suit and ran headlong into the water in her skirt.
And it didn’t simplify the laundry … but it did make the LO happy that after having an accident with some yogurt in her car-seat, there was new shirt that didn’t stick to her body.
And now I might need a second liner for the car-seat :)
THIS WEEK ...
The agenda for this week is simple (key word for Saturdays) ... and it involves technology and my use of it.
I used to be a tech-junkie. Checking my blackberry and/or iPhone constantly for new messages and new updates.
And since I moved to Montana I've gotten MUCH better about not being obsessive about it.
But I still find myself wanting to read and write texts while waiting at red lights.
I still find myself wanting to pick up the phone every time it dings ... no matter how rude it might seem to the person I'm with.
Well ... this week that all changes.
This week, I check my emails TWICE a day (in the morning and at night).
This week, I leave my cellphone in the car when I have meetings or go to the park.
This week, I take control of the technology that's supposed to make my life easier.
Wish me luck ... and don't be bummed if I take a little longer to respond to your notes, tweets and texts ...
