Sounds yummy. Wondering how you'd alter recipe to start with uncooked (rather than canned) black beans... I'm guessing you could soak the beans overnight in water, rinse and put in crockpot with water to cover, and follow the rest of the recipe as it, allowing maybe 12 hours instead of six. ?

That's basically what I've done in the past ... although I didn't add "water to cover" ... I just increased the amount of vegetable broth to a little more than a cup (maybe 1 1/2 cups). And I've never really had to let it cook for more than 10 hours ... but I imagine crockpots vary?
