030611. It’s just after 4:30 am on Sunday and I’m wide awake.
Unlike everyone else in the house.
And I must admit it’s kind of nice to have a little quiet time.
I’ve already done my meditations for the day.
And I wasn’t interrupted by dogs begging for food.
Or a Little One, not-so-subtly-sneaking them food.
There are no contractors outside the kitchen windows working on the house. (Believe it or not, the new windows are in and the siding is finally up after nearly 9 months since the hailstorm that damaged the building and blew out the windows… and no, we didn’t go with the green. Instead, we found a gorgeous red brick color and the Cottage looks like a home where people live once again!)
So now what?
Here are my choices:
- Take a few minutes to work on a new website design (for this site, as well as a new site I’m building called mommyandmemontana.com – which is shaping up to be a blog/clearing house of ideas of what one can do with their Little Ones throughout Montana – will be up and running in probably 4-6 weeks … if anyone has any ideas to include on that site, feel free to EMAIL ME.).
- Organize the curriculum for a special INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY yoga class I’m teaching at BE THE CHANGE on Tuesday. More on that tomorrow … but until then I’ll say this … find someway to celebrate the women (moms, sisters, friends, girlfriends, daughters, coworkers, etc) in your life on Tuesday because boy-o do they deserve it!
- Build playlists for all of my classes this week. (Too daunting. I'm not sure where this idea came from.)
- Read up on a movie project that just sort of landed in my lap (more on that later, when the details become clear … but if it’s real, it’s pretty cool and I’d be happy to “come out of retirement” to work on it).
- Begin “De-cluttering my life” – step one of Elaine St. James’ SIMPLIFY YOUR LIFE book (She has 100 ideas in this book and I’m going to spend the next few months incorporating as many of her ideas as possible. Will share the process along the way).
- Go back to bed. We have brunch plans at 11:30, so there’s nearly 5 hours before anyone really needs me to do anything (assuming the LO doesn’t wake up before then).
Hmmmm.
What to do … what to do?
Pause.
Pause.
Pause while I consider.
No pressure, please.
I think, this beautifully quiet morning, I’m going to climb back into bed.
Not because I don't have things that need to be done (note: laundry and dishes and housework are not on the list, but they should be).
But because none of them have to be done right now.
And because I remember a piece of advice I got from my SuperStepSis when the LO was born – sleep when the baby sleeps or you may not sleep at all!
Q: How crazy is it that it’s already March? Where is 2011 going? And why is it going so dang fast?
