100310. I’ve mentioned before I’m on this email list where I receive these emails from Kundalini Research Institute called “I Am a Woman: Quotation of the Day” by Yogi Bhajan.
So today, I woke up wanting to share this “Meditation to Manifest Miracles” I’ve been doing … and then this was the quote:
“Life for a rich person or a poor person, for a healthy person or an unhealthy person, for a tall person or a short person, means the same thing: what you put in you will get out. It’s an investment.”
It was a little bit of a thunderbolt moment.
Because right now, the Kundalini Yoga community is celebrating the upcoming birthday of Guru Ram Das (the 4th Sikh Guru) by practicing a meditation dedicated to Guru Ram Das. (At this point in my practice, my knowledge of the Sikh Gurus is a very basic one. And what I understand is that there have been 10 gurus. And each represents a different aspect of God. One represents courage. One humility. One clarity. Etc. And Guru Ram Das represents God’s ability to manifest miracles. He’s like the “patron saint” of miracles.)
So … back to this meditation … according to my Kundalini Yoga teachers, doing this meditation on the days leading up to Guru Ram Das’ birthday on October 9th is a powerful time of year to do it. Guru Ram Das has no choice but to answer your intention, to intercede to God on your behalf … because “his reputation is on the line” … :)
And I’ve been doing the meditation for a few days now (since last Wednesday) and while I haven’t witnessed a miracle to this point, I am feeling an overwhelming peace and confidence in the Universe that everything is going to be just a.o.k.
And like the daily quote says … life is an investment … and I’m willing to invest 11 minutes a day toward manifesting a miracle (not just for myself, but for my loved ones and for the world).
Because who couldn’t use a miracle?
So this is what I’m doing:
It's called DHAN DHAN RAM DAS GUR.
POSTURE: Sit in easy pose, with a straight spine. Eyes closed, rolled gently up and in toward your Third Eye.
MANTRA: (I’m using Snatam Kaur and Prabu Nam Kaur’s version from their CD Mother’s Blessing to guide my meditation. It's available at spiritvoyage.com ... as are other versions of the meditation.)
Dhan dhan raam daas gur jin siri-aa tinai savaari-aa
Pooree hoee karaamaat aap sirajanhaarai dhaari-aa
Sikhee atai sangatee paarbrahm kar namasakaari-aa
Atal athaa-o atol too tayraa ant na paaraavaari-aa
Jinee too sayvi-aa bhaa-o kar say tudh paar utaari-aa
Lab lobh kaam krodh mo maar kadhay tudh saparvaari-aa

Naanak too lehanaa toohai gur amar too veechaari-aa
Gur dithaa taa man saadhaari-aa
If you’d like to join me for the meditation, I’ll be leading it at BE THE CHANGE YOGA Studio in Bozeman at 7 am every morning this week (Monday-Friday). I'm also going to lead a 31-minute version of the meditation at the close of Jessi's 6 pm class on Thursday. Hope to see you there!
Q: What miracle do you want to manifest?
